Mariami Bibilouri is the Founder and CEO of Sungate Records, a New York–based, artist-first music company built to transform creative momentum into measurable growth, revenue, and long-term opportunity. Under her leadership, Sungate has emerged as a modern label services platform, providing strategy, marketing, sync, and brand development to independent artists without requiring ownership of masters or creative control.
Known for her systems-driven approach to artist development, Mariami operates at the node of music, technology, and storytelling, building infrastructure that replaces outdated, access-driven industry models with scalable, execution-focused frameworks. Her work centers on empowering artists to function as self-sustaining creative businesses capable of generating audience growth, cultural relevance, and diversified income streams.
In parallel to her executive work, Mariami is a genre-defying singer-songwriter recognized for her signature Indo-pop sound—a fusion of Georgian folk, R&B, and indie-pop that feels both progressive and timeless. With over 13 million Spotify streams, five #1 singles across the US and UK, and high-profile features spanning Apple to Porsche, her music transcends borders and resists categorization.
Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, she fled civil war at age six and relocated to the United States, an experience that continues to inform both her artistic voice and entrepreneurial perspective. She studied Musical Theater at Emerson College, double-majored in Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, and earned her Master’s in Music Business from NYU’s Steinhardt School.
Her breakthrough as an artist came at 29 with a development deal from an Interscope executive, leading to charting success across Europe. In 2021, she was inducted into Spotify’s Noteable League, alongside artists such as Carole King and John Legend. Since then, she has written thousands of songs, earning recognition for her expansive musical palette and boundary-pushing creative direction.
Through Sungate Records, Mariami is actively reshaping the future of the music industry. building a more ethical, artist centered model that prioritizes ownership and long term vision. Her mission is to dismantle the structural barriers she once faced and replace them with systems that enable artists to scale with intention and power.
